Itinerary 5 Days Tenerife
Tenerife is a fantastic destination for a short but unforgettable getaway. Whether you love nature, adventure, or relaxing by the beach, this 5-day itinerary Tenerife will help you explore the best highlights of the island. Here’s a day-by-day guide to make the most of your trip, including a Google Maps travel guide Canarias.

Day 1: Arrival on Tenerife & Playa de las Américas
Activities: Playa de las Américas
Accommodation: Parque Santiago III
Upon arrival at Tenerife South Airport, you can easily take a bus or pre-arrange a transfer to Playa de las Américas, one of the most vibrant areas on the island. We recommend staying at Parque Santiago III, a comfortable apartment complex located near the beach. Spend the rest of the day exploring the lively boulevard, enjoying the local cuisine, or simply relaxing by the ocean.
Day 2: Exploring by Car
Activities: Pino Gordo (1), Pico del Teide (2), Puerto de la Cruz (3), Los Gigantes (4)
Renting a car is the best way to explore Tenerife. The first stop is Pino Gordo, an enormous pine tree with a breathtaking view of the coastline. Driving further, you enter Teide National Park, where you can admire the Pico del Teide, a volcano standing at 3,718 meters, making it the highest mountain in Spain. Teide National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers some of the best stargazing spots in the world.
Next, visit Puerto de la Cruz, a charming coastal town with beautiful black sand beaches and lush gardens. The town is also famous for its banana plantations. The final stop is Los Gigantes, where massive cliffs rise up to 600 meters above the ocean. Parking here is tricky, but even from a distance, the views are spectacular.

Day 3: Discovering Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Activities: Santa Cruz de Tenerife (5)
From Playa de las Américas, you can take a direct bus to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island’s capital. The city is modern and bustling, with highlights like Plaza de España and colorful markets. While Santa Cruz has its charm, we preferred the atmosphere of Puerto de la Cruz. After a few hours of exploring, there’s enough time to relax at the accommodation.

Day 4: Siam Waterpark
Activities: Siam Water Park
On your last full day, you can visit Siam Park, often ranked as the best water park in the world. The park features thrilling slides, a wave pool with the largest artificial waves in Europe, and a tropical setting inspired by Thai architecture. It’s a fantastic place to spend the day, but be prepared for long queues on popular attractions.
Day 5: Relaxing at Playa de Camisón & Departure
Activities: Playa de Camisón
With a later flight, you have time for one last relaxing morning at Playa de Camisón, a small but beautiful beach near the accommodation. By noon, the transfer is ready to take you back to the airport, ending a wonderful 5-day itinerary on Tenerife.
Tip: Gran Canaria is another beautiful island, close to Tenerife!
Accommodation: Parque Santiago III
During our short trip on Tenerife we stayed at Parque Santiago III. It is located in the south of Tenerife in Playa de las Américas. Here you are right in the center of the touristic part of the island. It is therefore very accessible, both to the airport and to other places on the island. You can rent a car or a bike everywhere and there are many restaurants and shops. We also thought the room we got was fine. However, if you don’t like tourist traps then it might be advisable to look for another city to stay. The north of Tenerife then may be a better option. The disadvantage is that the weather in the north is often less good due to the wind direction.
