On the last day of our trip, we joined a snorkeling tour to this marine paradise and it was one of the highlights of our entire journey. A Snorkeling Tour to the Daymaniyat Islands
We booked our tour with Cruise Boat Oman and had a fantastic experience! The staff was warm and welcoming, and the boat was comfortable and well-equipped.
The tour starts with a scenic boat ride out to the islands, where you’ll get the chance to snorkel at several spots. In between swims, you can enjoy drinks and snacks provided on board. Everything was organized perfectly. We recommend the afternoon tour, which is more peaceful and takes place as the temperature begins to drop. What Can You See While Snorkeling?
The Daymaniyat Islands are one of the best places to snorkel in Oman for a reason. The waters are teeming with marine life, including a wide variety of fish. Most people hope to spot sea turtles. We saw at least 25 of them! It’s important to remember that this is their home, so give them space and resist the urge to get too close for the best photos.
Can You Go Ashore?
At certain times of the year, visitors are allowed to step foot on the islands. However, starting from May 1st, that’s no longer permitted due to conservation rules. Our tour took place on May 2nd, so we couldn’t go ashore, but that was no problem at all. We came to snorkel, and the experience in the water was more than enough!
What to Bring for a Snorkeling Tour
Your tour package includes snorkeling gear, snacks, and drinks. Be sure to bring your own swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a hat. Out of respect for the local culture, we wore a T-shirt and shorts while swimming, although we saw many others in regular swimwear too.
