5x Best Beaches Corsica + Google Maps Guide

In the summer of 2022 we made a road trip across Corsica. We loved Corsica for the perfect island-vibe and the beautiful beaches with crystal clear water. We have seen quite a few great beaches and in this article we list the best beaches at Corsica!

The Beaches at Corsica in General

The beaches at Corsica are very clean and the water is crystal clear. Furthermore, they vary a lot: from pebble beaches to fine sandy beaches. What we liked during our road trip at Corsica was that it was generally quiet at the beaches (western part of the island). There was more than enough space to take a dip: very different from the packed beaches in the south of France or Italy (Sardenge, for instance, was a lot more crowded). We also found (mostly free) proper parking spaces everywhere. On the map below you will find the locations of the 5 best beaches Corsica that we think are worth visiting.

The Best Beaches at Corsica According to Us!

1. Plage d’Aregno

We visited Plage d’Aregno as one of the first beaches during our road trip Corsica. The beach is quite wide, so it won’t get crowded here anytime soon. What we really liked were the rocks and the houses on the left side of the beach. The beach is surrounded by low, green bushes that are typical for Corsica. If you look closely, you might see birds flying around the rocks or nesting in the cliffs nearby.

2. Plage D’Arone

Plage D’Arone is a true gem! The beach is nice and wide, quiet, clean and oriented on the west side so that you can watch the sunset in the evening! You can do this while enjoying a tasty pizza that you can pick up at the back of the beach. A really nice spot for one or more days. We stayed on the nearby campsite: Camping d’Arone. Plage D’Arone is surrounded by tall cliffs and wild plants, making it feel very natural. There are also hiking trails nearby where you can enjoy beautiful views of the coastline.

3. Plage de Menasina

Plage the Menasina is a short walk down the road. You can easily park your car along the road at a big parking area (watch the potholes!). From here you walk down a narrow paved road. At the bottom of the road, take an unpaved footpath to the left. From here, the path runs through the trees. If you follow this path, which eventually bends to the right, you will arrive at the beach. We initially went wrong here, because the path didn’t seem to go in the right direction.

Plage de Menasina was not crowded at all during our visit. It is a smaller beach than the other beaches we describe in this article, but that certainly didn’t make it any less beautiful. The beach is hidden between trees, which makes it a quiet and peaceful spot. On the way there, you might see flowers growing along the path or hear birds singing in the trees.

4. Plage de Cupabia

Plage de Cupabia is definitely our number 1 best beach in Corsica! The beach is quite large and the water seems even more clear than on other beaches! At the edge of the beach there is a large camping site and a restaurant. Parking was easy to do, but keep in mind that in high season you have to park a little further away from the entrance to the beach. You’ll find good parking facilities, both along the road and in parking spaces. The water here is very clear and perfect for snorkeling to see small fish. The dunes and plants around the beach make it feel very natural and untouched.

Tip: bring a waterbottle from water-to-go. This way you have clean drinking water when you visit the beach. With the code wetraveloutdoor you’ll receive a 10% discount.

5. Plage du Grand Sperone

Plage du Grand Sperone surprised us in several ways. After we had scrambled over a few rocks close to the water, we arrived at the first beach: Plage de Piantarella. We wouldn’t recommend this beach because of the crowd, the seaweed and other rubbish in the water.

We therefore decided to continue walking towards Plage du Petite Sperone. You have to walk a bit further for this beach, but this is definitely worth it. Nevertheless, we decided to walk even further, to Plage du Grand Sperone. Once you arrive you can relax on a nice beach, a little further away from the real crowds. The clear water is calm and great for spotting little fish. You can also smell wild herbs like rosemary as you walk through the area.

You can drive with your own car at Corsica (if you take the ferry), but it’s also possible to rent a car. We would recommend Sunnycars because of the all-in price!
