General Information
Before diving into the costs, it’s important to know the details of our road trip through the Baltic States. We traveled as a couple for 10 days in October in 2024. During the trip, we stayed in hotels (private room) and rented a car for the entire duration.

Overview of Costs for a Road Trip Through the Baltic States
So, what are the costs of a road trip through the Baltic States? We spent approximately €1300 in total (excluding flight tickets) for 10 days, which averages to about €65 per person per day. Below is a general breakdown of how we spent our money. All prices reflect 2024 rates, and we didn’t receive any discounts or special offers.

- Accommodation (35%)
- Food and drinks (27%)

Flight Tickets
The cost of flight tickets can vary to a large extent, so we do not provide specific prices here. To find the best deals, we recommend checking Skyscanner. Tip: Consider flying through another city on your return journey to save money. We flew to and from Vilnius, which turned out to be the cheapest option.
Accommodation Costs in the Baltic States
In total, we spent about €450 on accommodation. That’s around €50 per night for two people. We mostly stayed in hotels. What stood out was that while some hotels looked a bit run-down, they still offered great value for money!

Food & Drinks During the Road Trip
Although we occasionally stayed in apartments with kitchens, we didn’t cook much. To fully immerse ourselves in the local experience, we made sure to try regional dishes. For example, we enjoyed potato pancakes and soups served in hollowed-out bread. The total cost for food and drinks during our road trip through the Baltic States was €350. This includes groceries and dining out.

Transportation Costs for the Road Trip
As usual, we rented a car through Sunnycars. For the entire trip, we spent around €400 on transportation. This includes the car rental, fuel and parking fees. If you’re only traveling within one country, like Lithuania, transportation costs are lower. However, for border crossings, expect to pay around €100 extra.
Activities and Entrance Fees
The Baltic States are still less touristy compared to other European destinations, so you don’t have to pay for every activity. However, we did pay for a few experiences, such as visiting museums in Vilnius or enjoying the sauna in Tallinn. We budgeted about €100 for activities during the trip.
