Europe
Europe consists of many (smaller) countries, each with their own characteristics. As we live in the Netherlands, we visited many countries and unique places on the continent already. Some of them by plane, but more by car. For us, these destinations are perfect for a shorter holiday, as all countries are quite easy to travel to. Are you travelling from another continent, then it is probably nice to make a combination of a few different countries. You could visit 3 or 4 countries already in a few weeks!

Our Favorite Destinations
The most popular countries in Europe are France, Spain, Greece and Italy, especially for tourists from Europe itself. Although we like those countries very much, our favorite destinations are a bit more away from the crowds.
We visited the Balkan countries in the summer of 2024 and were really impressed by the diversity in nature and the pure coastline, especially along the Adriatic coast in Croatia.
Further north, Iceland is still in our top list of destinations, just because nature is so unique in this country. However, our top rated destination is Svalbard currently! We visited this archipelago during the winter of 2025 and were really impressed by the polar climate so close to the North Pole!
Our Favorite Activities in Europe
We hebben ontzettend veel mooie herinneringen aan Europa, waardoor het lastig is om een keuze te maken. Als we dan toch de mooiste activiteiten eruit moeten pikken, dan zijn het deze drie: 1) Sneeuwscootertocht op Spitsbergen, omdat de natuur hier, zeker in de winter, zo ontzettend uniek is; 2) De westkust van Corsica, wij hebben hier de mooiste stranden én gaafste kustlijn van Europa gezien; 3) Ski-safari door het zuiden van Noorwegen, omdat we hier de meest diverse winterrondreis maakten!
We did a lot of nice activities in Europe, so it would be quite hard to make some choices for a top list. However, if we had to make our best experiences, the following activities would be included: 1) Snowscooter tour in Svalbard, simply because the polar climate was so extreme and beautiful to see; 2) The west coast from Corsica, as we saw the most beautiful beaches and coastline from Europe here; 3) Our ski-safari through southern Norway, as it was our most diverse winter roadtrip so far.
