Oceania

Oceania is a beautiful continent, known for its breathtaking nature and unique landscapes. Besides Australia and New Zealand, the region contains many (small) islands. For us as outdoor travelers, Oceania proved to be a fantastic destination!

Our Favorite Destinations
We only visited Australia and New Zealand and we were impressed by both countries. Whereas in Australia we really loved the wildlife, New-Zealand had the most astonishing landscapes! Both countries are recommended to visit. If possible, try to combine them into one trop, as it is probably a long flight from whereever you are coming from!
Our Favorite Activities in Oceania
So we mostly enjoyed spotting kangaroos, wallabies and koalas in Australia, whereas we loved the nature in New Zealand. Although we really liked our whole east-coast itinerary for Australia, we would mostly recommend the locations where we best spotted wildlife: Magnetic Island, Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, Koala Conservation Hospital, Princetown Recreation Reserve and Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve!
As for New Zealand, we think Southern Island has the most untouched nature, where every viewpoint is as amazing. From our trip through Northern Island we would highly recommend the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Don’t forget to take a break at the Waikite Hot Pools after this exhausting hike!
